Hiking on the Mills path in Castiglion Fiorentino

This circular route runs along a network of country roads and trails at the bottom of the valley, interesting from both a historical and a naturalistic point of view.
The highlights of this itinerary are the ancient stream Cilone (now merged into the Vingone after the reclamation works of the past centuries), the farmhouses, the centuries-old oaks, the rows of field maples with the vite maritata (a particular species of vine) and the beautiful landscape.
From the path (raised above the country level) it is possible to recognize the settlements on the surrounding hills, linked to the milling of cereals: Mulin Nuovo, Mulino Bianco, Mulino dello Lame, Mulinacci. Along the entire stretch there are toponyms that recall the ancient function of these places.
